Please consider the following projects, which could develop into an Excellence Portfolio that you develop to earn an A in this class:
Create a slideshow of how radioactivity has been represented in the visual arts;
Create a set of trading cards with comic book characters affected by radioactivity;
Provide a movie/TV review of a show that featured radioactivity as an important plot element;
Create a timeline of interesting events in history related to radioactivity;
Make an annotated diagram of a piece of equipment important to the application of radioactivity;
Yucca Mountain has been under consideration for many years as a place to store radioactive nuclear waste. Present a summary of the reasons why Yucca Mountain has been selected, and also why the plan is being opposed. This could be presented as a news article, a iMovie news report, or a ComicLife story.
Research the common medical problems of a uranium miner. Tell a realistic story of an imaginary miner, using facts that you uncovered in your research.
Create a review game that would test whether someone understood the basic ideas of radioactivity. The game could take any form you like, and should be both interesting and educational.
